THD
CBSD Credit Card
The THD CBSD credit card, also known as the Home Depot Citibank South Dakota credit card, is the sole consumer
credit card by the retail giant, Home Depot.
It previously offered two credit cards but decided to discontinue the Rewards MasterCard in 2009. As of press time,
the only THD CBSD credit card available is the basic store card called the Home Depot Consumer
Credit Card.
The THS CBSD credit card is issued by Citibank and is accepted at all 2,000+ Home Depot outlets nationwide. The THS
CBSD credit card is intended only for individual use and for in-store purchases. As a promotional rate, the THD
CBSD credit card offers a 0% purchase APR for the first six months for purchases above $299. However, when the
balance is not paid in full within the promotion period, the interest will accrue at an APR of 18% to 27%,
depending on the creditworthiness of the THD CBSD credit card holder. The interest for these purchases after the
six-month period will also depend on the size of the purchase since lower rates will be applied to larger items.
This is a great advantage to THD CBSD credit card holders who are currently undertaking intense or extensive home
improvement projects.
The THD CBSD credit card has an annual percentage rate (APR) of 17.99%, 21.99%, 25.99%, or 26.99%, depending on the
cardholder’s creditworthiness. A grace period of 25 days is given to THD CBSD credit card holders who pay in full
and on time every month. An extra $2 minimum finance charge should also be noted. When a cardholder fails to pay on
time, a default APR of 29.99% will be incurred. Transaction fees for the THD CBSD credit card include an equal
payment plan fee of 3% of the amount per transaction or $5 (whichever is greater). Penalty fees include a returned
payment (i.e. checks) fee of $39 and a late payment fee of $20 on balances from $100 and below, $35 on balances
between $100 and $500, and $39 on balances starting from $500.
The THD CBSD credit card does not charge any annual fee. However, making balance transfers is not allowed. The THD
CBSD credit card also features $0 liability when a card is used without the authority of the account holder.
Moreover, it offers an online account which a cardholder can view 24/7. This will allow him/her to view recent
transactions, access up to 12 months of statements, manage accounts, pay for bills online, and contact Citibank’s
customer service department without the hassle.
Paying bills for the Home Depot credit card is also easy since aside from online and mail payments, THD CBSD
credit card holders can also pay directly at Home Depot stores nationwide. Applying for this credit card will
not require a good credit rating but a cardholder’s APR upon approval will depend his/her track
record.
