Children's
Place Credit Card
With over 953 stores nationwide, The Children’s Place (TCP) is one of the biggest specialty retailers in the United
States.
The store offers children’s clothes and accessories that can be worn by children up to the age of fourteen. Like
other retail stores, TCP has its own credit card. The Children’s Place credit card is the official
card from Children’s Place.
This card is issued by Citibank and features a rewards program that allows the cardholder to earn points that can
be exchanged for discount coupons for all Children’s Place stores in the US, Puerto Rico, and online. Every dollar
spent on purchases charged to the Children’s Place credit card earns the holder one PLACE point that can be
accumulated for exclusive deals and discounts. A minimum of 200 points will give the cardholder a Rewards Member
status. This entitles him/her to a 10% sticker discount coupon that can be used at all Children’s Place stores.
Other special features of the Children’s Place credit card is the complimentary shipping for purchases made on
TCP’s online store.
Standard features of the Children’s Place credit card include exclusive offers and previews of the latest products
and online account management that lets each cardholder manage his/her account and pay for the bills online.
Basic fees for the Children’s Place credit card include a 25.99% purchase APR. The card also charges a minimum
interest rate of at least $2. For late payments, a Children’s Place credit card holder is charged $25 for balances
$100 and below, $35 for balances between $100 and $500, and $39 for balances starting from $500. Returned payments
will also cost the cardholder $39. The good news is, it does not charge any annual fee and gives a 25-day grace
period for each billing cycle.
To apply for a Children’s Place credit card, you can visit any of their outlets or go to their website. Applying
online will entitle you to a 10% web discount that you can use within thirty days of its issuance. To qualify, you
will need to be at least 18 years old and have a Social Security Number.
The Children’s Place credit card probably offers one of the highest interest rates we’ve seen on a store
card. If you’re thinking of improving your credit rating with a store card, then TCP’s credit card is not the right
one for you. You should only apply for this card if you frequent The Children’s Place and you shop there for all
your needs. The fact that you don’t go to the store as often as you shop for groceries is already a sign that it’s
not the card for you.
