SEIU
Credit Card
Employees International Union, is one of the biggest union organizations in the United States with over 2 million
members.
Services from SEIU range from healthcare services to public service to property services. One of the perks of being
a member is the opportunity to apply for the SEIU credit card.
The SEIU credit card, also known as the SEIU Rewards Visa® Credit Card offers a lot of benefits including a fixed
annual rate, a zero annual fee, and inexistent late payment, over-the-limit, and cash advance fees. The SEIU credit
card also offers a rewards program that offers excellent rewards like airline tickets, gift cards, merchandise, and
access to travel and sporting events. The SEIU credit card has one of the lowest minimum-points redemption and one
of the most long-lasting accumulation periods since accumulated points for the rewards program never expire so long
as the account remains active. Moreover, up to 1% cash back is also given to an SEIU credit card holder for every
dollar s/he spends on all retail purchases.
Staple features of the SEIU credit card include a 100% fraud protection, a 24/7 customer service line, and an
online account that lets the cardholder access his/her account to view recent transactions, manage account
features, and pay for bills online.
As an introductory promo, the SEIU credit card offers a 0% APR on balance transfers for the first six months. This
rate will revert back to a variable 12.24% to 22.24% depending on the cardholder’s credit rating. This APR is also
applicable to purchases. For cash advances, an APR of 24.99% applies. However, when a due date is missed by an SEIU
credit card holder, a penalty APR of 27.99% is charged. The good news is, a grace period of 25 days is given to
those who pay for their bills in full and on time.
Other fees for the SEIU credit card include a minimum interest charge of $1.50 and a cash (or convenience check)
advance charge of 4% of the amount or a minimum of $5. However, when a cash advance is made in a foreign country, a
limit of $1,000 is required. A foreign transaction fee of 3% of the amount is also applied when an SEIU credit card
is used abroad. For balance transfers, the transaction fee is 4% of the amount or $5 minimum. The only penalty fee
applied to the SEIU credit card is the $25 returned payment fee.
Though the SEIU credit card is only available to SEIU members, it requires a credit check on the
applicant. Also, being a cash back credit card, one will need at least a fair credit rating for higher chances of
approval.
