Woodforest National Bank is currently issuing and managing eight credit cards including 2 personal cards, 2 student
cards, 1 secured card, and 3 business cards.
Each Woodforest credit card is from Visa and generally varies by Visa brands such as Signature,
Rewards, and Platinum. The following paragraphs will give an overview of the two personal cards.
There are two personal Woodforest credit cards: the Visa Signature Card and the Visa Platinum Card. Both offer
exclusive privileges from Visa including extended warranty for purchases, travel accident insurance, zero
liability, auto rental insurance, and other feats that can only be given to Visa cardholders. Another special offer
for each Woodforest credit card is the introductory rate of 0% APR on purchases for the first six months after the
account set-up and another APR-free six months on balance transfers.
After this period, the purchase and balance transfer APR of each Woodforest credit card will revert back to a range
between 9.99% and 20.99% (depending on the account holder’s creditworthiness). For cash advances, the APR remains
at 23.99%. A grace period of 24-30 days is given and there is no indication of a default/penalty APR for each
Woodforest credit card. Transaction fees start from $5 or 3% of the amount for balance transfers and convenience
check cash advances; to $10 or 4% of the amount for ATM cash advances; and end with, $20 or 4% of the amount for
cash equivalent advances. Other fees include a minimum interest charge of $2, an overdraft protection fee of $10,
and a foreign transaction fee of 2% of the amount in US dollars or 3% of the amount in another currency. Penalty
charges for each Woodforest credit card include a late payment fee and a returned payment fee. For balances that
don’t go beyond $100, the late payment fee is $19. For those between $100 and $250, the fee is $29, and for
balances that are beyond $250, the charge will be $39. For returned payments, an additional $39 will be
charged.
The first personal credit card from Woodforest Bank is the Visa Signature Card. The Visa signature card is a
rewards Woodforest credit card with no annual fee that offers up to 1% cash back on net purchases and rewards
points that can be exchanged for airline tickets, merchandise, and gift cards. A minimum of 25,000 points is needed
for one roundtrip plane ticket from participating airline companies. For using this Woodforest credit card for the
first time, a cardholder gets to receive 2,500 rewards points for a minimum of $25 credit statement.
The Visa Platinum card is another Woodforest credit card that caters to personal consumers. This is a standard card
that offers no annual fee and the staple benefits from Visa. It’s a hassle-free way of having a convenient
purchasing tool. Minimum requirements for this Woodforest credit card include an annual income of
$12,000.
